Yay! Yarn! Must bide time...
Yarn is just so much more fun than outlines -- see my level of distraction? I was supposed to be thinking about Constitutional Protections for Medical Care Decisions. Need to finish Substantive Due Process / Right to privacy and then I'll be done. Next I have to start with the practice exams and the memorizing of that darn outline.

Updates
I have also ordered yarn to knit a summer tank top, called Coachella, after the music festival in Indio. I've never been to Coachella, but this is so cute, I decided to make it. The yarn arrives tomorrow, but I can't knit on it until after finals.

a-line sweater
I knit almost all day yesterday while dog sitting, and I made really good progress on this sweater. I'm hoping to get it done this week. It's kind of warm, but luckily, It's the bay area - I'll probably be cold again in June.

completed hose
I have more pictures posted on flickr. I finished the socks on Thursday night and realized that knitting anything else was hopeless. Fortunately, Jerm had another hat to wear, and it's getting warm - but I think he likes the style enough that he'd wear it around, not just at reenactment events.
Anyway, these came along marvelously - I was very impressed with my ability to improvise much of the pattern. I did a swatch and measured to figure out the number of stitches I'd need a key parts of my leg, and then increased and decreased accordingly. Then once I got to the ankle, I made a sock. The best thing about the sock is the purl seam along the back, and also the clocking on the ankle. It's super easy to do, but makes the socks look fancy.
I've started on Jerm's stockings, hopefully I'll have them done within the month. His are much tighter (having learned a bit from the prior stockings), and instead of just 1 purl row along the back, I did a 1x1 rib for 6 stitches. Mostly I did that because his legs are so skinny, I don't want them to fall down!

Monmouth Cap
In preparation for School of the Soldier, I'm trying to get in some period knitting. I made this for my dad, and now need to make one for my lovely red-bearded model (aka my husband).
I'm also planning to use my spring break to knit at least one pair of wool hose - for Jerm first, then me - I can get away with more layering since I'm wearing a skirt. His pants only hit at the knee, so I think his legs get a little cold, especially if it's wet (which it has been the past few years).
jaywalkers for valerie
I knit these for J's mom for her Christmas present - she liked them. As usual, it was hard for me to finish, but I gave them to her by mid-January. Should have posted about them sooner!
