Coachella Tank - Finished

Coachella Tank - Finished, originally uploaded by Mrs. Jeffrye.

Finally finished something! This darn thing is going to be awkward to wear till I find a good tank to wear under it - it is VERY low in front. But I like it too.

to frog or not to frog?

to frog or not to frog, originally uploaded by Mrs. Jeffrye.

that is the question. i tried this on after i joined the armholes, and it seemed a little tight around the armpit, which would defeat the purpose of a cool tank top. i kept knitting anyway, and then i thought about it, and i think i won't like the shirt if it's really tight at the armpits, and i probably messed up by not making the front long enough. so i think i'm going to frog and start over. in fact, i think i'm going to make an xs, so it'll be less booby-tastic.

i'm kind of sad that i didn't finish it, and i'm trying to decide if i should take it with us to north carolina. i guess i could knit it on the plane.

Thuja

Thuja, originally uploaded by Mrs. Jeffrye.

In my effort to not begin any new projects until after finals, I've been picking up my unfinished objects. I'm finished these socks for Jerm - I had one sock hanging around waiting to be grafted for like 2 months, and then I decided to finish and knit the other one in like a day and a half. This is a super-easy pattern, almost too easy, but it was a very quick knit, when I decided to knit it. It wasn't exactly inspiring, though. Oh, and I love this yarn.

First Sweater

First Sweater, originally uploaded by Mrs. Jeffrye.

I finally finished it. I just need to block it. Things I have learned after knitting this sweater:

  1. there is a better way to decrease for sleeves, and I didn't figure that out until after I did them.
  2. I can make up the pattern for the collar and it will still look fine
  3. my shoulders are broader than I think.
  4. seaming, while not terrible, is kind of bulky and ugly. Next sweater will be a seamless raglan.
  5. I am never going to enjoy sewing buttons, no matter how cute they look on Ravelry.
  6. I really, really hate sewing in ends.
